The nature around Pai, Thailand, is amazing. Wherever you’ll look you’ll see rice fields, trees and water, but, what happens in the evening, when the dark comes down, what will you do then???
No worries, when the dark comes down the food stands pop up 🙂
The main street of Pai is the “walking street”, it is the center of the night scene in Pai.
In the main street you will see a lot of food stands selling tasty local food, fruits and smoothies. prices will start with 10 baht for a gyoza, 50 baht for a papaya salad and up to 100 baht for a tofu and avocado salad. (of course you will find many other kinds of food such s the Pad Thai for 60-80 baht and you may even find a Falafel and Humus there 🙂 )
On the other side of the street you will find many restaurants and pubs, loud music and weed smell are very common there 😉
In the streets around the “walking street” you will find many more restaurants, some serve local food and usually very cheap (and tasty) other offer Indian/Western food, you may even find a “crocodile burger” (I didn’t taste it, I’m a vegetarian …)
Bottom line, the night life scene in Pai is all around the walking street. sure, there are few other places, but they are not as alive as the walking street and many of them will be closed by 21:00.
In the walking street most of the places are open till 22:00 and some of them even later, into the night.
