So we decided to go out for a long journey, we decided we’ll start in Thailand, now what?
We had around 10 months to prepare ourselves, we made a list of tasks/thoughts that should be taken care of.
- Can we afford it financially? what will be our income channels? how much will we earn from them?
- What are going to do with our home?
- What about our children? they are 22 years old but still live with us.
- What about our cats? we have few cats in our house, we should not abandon them.
These were the “big issues” we also had some minor ones 🙂
- In Thailand most of the transportation is with scooters, what are we going to do?
- How long will we be gone? will we come to visit from time to time?
- What should we pack?
We decided to rent our home and lease a small apartment for our kids, that would solve most of our major issues as we will fund most of our journey with the rent.
We rented the house to a nice family who loves cats and that solved one more issue, they will take care of our cats.
My wife started to learn how to ride a bike and succeeded to pass the test and got a driving license for scooters (which was something we didn’t think will ever happen as she was so afraid and never agreed to ride before)
We bought a scooter so I could refresh my ability of riding a bike (I used to ride ~15 years ago), eventually, we found it super useful as my daughter started to ride as well 🙂
In the above paragraphs I wrote what we did as it was fast and simple, it was not.
It took us time to decide to rent our house, we lived there for 17 years, learning to ride costed some tears and wasn’t easy and above all, the situation in Israel was very unclear. endless war and we were not sure that we will have our flight till the day it departed…
In the next post we’ll arrive to THAILAND…
